The Kimbers Cove Apartments project is a 288-unit HUD housing project located on a +/- 19 acre site at 9455 103rd Street in Jacksonville, Florida. The project includes fourteen two-story apartment buildings, five three-story apartment buildings, one single-story clubhouse building, one single-story maintenance building, one trash compactor, and two mail kiosks. The community also offers after-school programs and a technology center.
Kimbers Cove, constructed under HUD’s 221 (d)(4) program, earmarked 40% of its units for residents earning at or below 60% of annual median income for Jacksonville.
The FaverGray Company was contracted to complete the construction of the project which was started and partially constructed by another contractor prior to becoming insolvent.
The contract required demolition of two apartment buildings and then construction and completion of all twenty-four building structures, a complete water service, fire service, storm service, sanitary sewer service, asphalt paving, site hardscapes, landscaping, and perimeter fencing.
