U-Pointe on Speight Avenue is a luxury student housing project made up of 178 apartment units. This 321,000 square foot community is situated 3 blocks southwest of the Baylor University campus on 2.8 acres in Waco, Texas.
The community includes three 5-story buildings surrounding a 6-level precast parking garage with direct access to residences. Amenities include a well-appointed courtyard with a swimming pool accentuated with a jumbo-tron and televisions, outdoor lounge area, fitness center, cyber café and study areas.
Apartment buildings are constructed primarily of structural wood framing. The exterior surfaces are composed of fiber cement siding, brick masonry, and storefront glass at the amenity areas. All buildings within the community are built upon post tensioned concrete slabs on grade. Interior finishes include painted and textured finished drywall ceilings and walls, with a mix of carpet, wood, resilient vinyl plank flooring and porcelain tile.
